Lakireddy Bali Reddy Charitable Trust, registered in 1997 is a non-profit organization fully funded by Sri Lakireddy Bali Reddy.

LBRCT - Founder

Sri Lakireddy Bali Reddy (Late), an Indo-american entrepreneur, philanthropist hails from Velvadam, a village in the Mylavaram mandal of Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. A meritorious student throughout his academic career, he graduated from Osmania University with a Gold medal in B.E in Chemical Engineering. Soon after, he went to the University of California at Berkeley on a scholarship in 1960 and completed MS in Chemical Engineering.
A man of boundless energy and ideas, he envisioned himself in the role of an entrepreneur in the hotel and real estate business. Within a few decades, through sheer hard work and determination, he was successful in establishing a flourishing business empire. A man with considerable compassion and generosity, he took immense pleasure in doing many acts of charity and philanthropy that benefited his beloved place of birth and its people. He set up Lakireddy Bali Reddy Charitable Trust, a non-profit organization fully funded by him in order to channelize the multi-faceted philanthropic activities towards the socio-economic and educational development of this region of Krishna District.
He strived to improve the lot of the poor and helpless as well. Some of his notable philanthropic activities include:

Providing pensions to the old, poor and the destitute
Providing free eye care services including free cataract surgery with lens implants
Building a Secondary School on the outskirts of Velvadam and donating it the Zillaparishad
Donated school building to Upper Primary School at Velvadam
Supply of drinking water during summer
Laying road network with drainage in Velvadam

‘Janani Janmabhumischa swargadapi gariyasi’ is the haunting fire that kindled the thought of the Founder Chairman Sri Lakireddy Bali Reddy to establish an educational institution nearer to his native place of Mylavaram in the year 1998. He firmly believes that education is the strongest and sharpest weapon to fight the evils in the society and enhancing human quality of life.

Trust Activities

1. Construction of School buildings at Velvadam & Ganapavaram at a cost of Rs.1,99,16,000/- and handed over to Govt. of Andhra Pradesh
2. Laying of concrete roads with side drains at a cost of Rs.1,84,00,574/-
3. Construction of Degree college at a cost of Rs.8,00,00,000/- at Mylavaram by Dr. Lakireddy Hanimi Reddy and handed over to the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
4. Organizing Healthcare services i.e. Eye camp in Mylavaram regularly i.e. once in a week. The expenditure incurred so far has reached Rs.1,42,38,584/-
5. Disbursement of old age pensions in Velvadam and Mylavaram every month, since the year 1998. The expenditure incurred, as on date is Rs.2,66,45,647/-
6. Construction of two temples in Velvadam village at a cost of Rs. 3,00,00,000/-
7. Disbursement of Merit-cum-means scholarships to the students, the amount disbursed as on date is Rs.1,29,96,000/-
8. Supply of drinking water in Velvadam and Mylavaram, the expenditure as on today is Rs.7,75,850/-
9. Donations to voluntary and service organizations, amounting to Rs.52,63,080/-
10. Indoor stadium & other sports facilities by Dr. Lakireddy Hanimi Reddy at a cost of Rs.1,85,00,000/-
11. Distribution of house sites by Lakireddy Bali Reddy to employees and the poor in well-developed layouts.
The trust is determined to continue with to undertake such service activities in future also so as to benefit the poor in and around Velvadam / Mylavaram.
