Since its inception, the Freshman Engineering Department (FED) has been a cornerstone of our college, dedicated to providing a strong academic foundation for undergraduate and postgraduate students in engineering, technology, and business administration.The department offers a diverse range of core and applied courses across Physics, Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Physical Education, and English. These courses are designed to ensure a well-rounded introduction to the fundamental principles essential for engineering education.Our department boasts a team of 46 highly qualified faculty members, including 23 doctorate holders and 10 pursuing their PhDs. With over 75% of our faculty serving for more than sixteen years, we take pride in their experience, dedication, and passion for teaching and research. Many of our faculties come from premier institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IISER.

Our faculty actively engages in cutting-edge research across various scientific and engineering domains. We have published over 155 research papers and secured 10 patents, underscoring our commitment to academic excellence and innovation. The department has successfully completed sponsored research projects worth over one crore rupees from reputed funding agencies like DST, SERB, and AICTE.Faculty members regularly organize and participate in Faculty Development Programs, workshops, seminars, and national and international conferences to enhance their expertise and contribute to the academic community.We proudly coordinate two central-level student clubs — Prakruthi and Spoorthi. These vibrant platforms encourage students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, promoting leadership, community involvement, and holistic development.
