About SC / ST Committee


   The LBRCE is committed to provide an environment that promotes diversity and respects everyone regardless of colour, religious belief or cultures. While maintaining diversity of all kinds, it also commits to ensuring protection of everyone including minorities and acting as per the provisions of constitution of India in such matters. ln order to create a living and working environment where all students feel safe and respected, there is a need to establish an SC, ST and Minorities Cell with the following objectives. The AICTE, New Delhi sanctioned a project PRERANA scheme for SC/ST students for higher education in the A.Y.2018-19 worth 4.8 lacs.

OBJECTIVES:

  1. To ensure provisions for an environment where all such students feel safe and secure.
  2. To provide prompt counselling for any emotional emergencies arising on account of any events at the campus.
  3. To provide a mechanism to redress the grievances of SC, ST and minority students, if any.
  4. To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.
  5. To arrange for special opportunities to enhance the career growth of these students such as through competitive examination coaching.

   The SC/ ST and Minorities Cell will provide comprehensive preventive and proactive services to all such students enrolled for various academic programmes in the college. The goal of the cell would be to enhance the psychological wellbeing of SC/ ST and Minority students at LBRCE so they can take full advantage of the educational opportunities at the college. The guidelines of UGC will be adopted time to time. A committee for SC/ST is established on 01-06-2018 as per the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989 No.33 dated 11/09/1989) as per AICTE norms.

FUNCTIONING OF SC/ST CELL:

   Function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the grievances of SC/ST students of the college and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as personal career problems.
   Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these two communities suffering economic, social and educational deprivations.

ACTIVITIES OF SC/ST CELL:

   The SC/ST Cell was established in the college to co-ordinate in the implementation of the various policies and programmes launched by the Central Government, MHRD, UGC and State Government for the benefit of the SC/ST students.
   It also undertakes the activities to develop awareness among the SC/ST students, especially from the rural areas. The faculty members of the Cell are actively engaged in coordinating and solving the problems in matters related to SC/ST students.
   Announce details of free coaching programs, start-ups, government scholarships and fellowships through circulars to the SC/ST students from time to time as and when notified by Central Government, MHRD, UGC and State Governments.

  2. Facilitate the personal and academic growth of SC/ST students by regular interactions.
  3. Educate the SC/ST students on different schemes, fellowships, financial aid from Central and State governments.
  4. Inculcate the culture of self motivation in SC/ST students to become entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
  5. Provide adequate training to SC/ST students for cracking the competitive examinations GATE, GRE, IELTS,TOEFL etc.,
  6. Any other work assigned from time to time to promote higher education among these two Communities (SC/ST) suffering economic, social and educational deprivations.
