About the Department:

   Since its establishment in 2008, The Department of Master of Business Administration, a constituent unit of LBRCE, has dedicated itself to the cause of quality higher education in management. The curriculum and Pedagogy integrate rigorous academic theory with real-life challenges and is geared to equip the students to successfully face the challenges of a long career in the world of uncertainty. We believe our pedagogy enables, engages, exemplifies and encourages students to make effective business decisions. Management education requires external orientation and thorough understanding about the changes happening in Business, Government and the Society. In order to fortify Industry-Academia association the department is maintaining close relation with premiere Institutions and also collaborated with AIMS to promote, safeguard and professional development of management education.

Curriculum and Teaching Pedagogy:

   Department of MBA follows semester pattern, each academic year is divided into two semesters, each of 20 weeks duration. Each semester consists of maximum 95 instruction days with at least 44 contact periods. To revitalize teaching effectiveness, faculty place emphasis on effective pedagogy and give utmost importance to the learning needs of students. The focus on student learning has driven the faculty in adopting new approaches of teaching such as Adherence to Academic Calendar and Course –Handouts, Calendar of events to support Co-Curricular and Extra-curricular activities, Instruction Method using ICT, Using the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship facilities, audio visual classes to update the students in Business and Industry in addition to Lecture method. The curriculum design provides students with the best opportunities to be well-rounded managers and business leaders. The success rate of the students is about 95% during the last 5 years.

Research and Other Facilities:

   Going by the fact that quality in higher education depends on aligning teaching with research, the department pays special attention to cater the needs of faculty handling Research Projects. The focus areas of the department for R&D activities identified are Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Systems and Operations. We offer experiential learning for our students through an array of activities like Industry Review Projects, Outbound Training, Summer Internships, In-House R&D projects, Skill Development Programmes and Dissertation. Our faculty members’ scholastic excellence is depicted through their publications in renowned peer-reviewed journals. In addition to Central Library, a library is functioning in the department with 400 volumes to extend reference facility to both faculty and students. Internet facility is provided to students to fulfil their academic requirements. Students can access Course Handouts, Course Files of all subjects in the college web. We handhold our students through our counselling sessions and provided with solutions.

Training and Placements:

   We pride ourselves on the strong industry academia interface, the alumni network, which plays a key role in understanding the business needs, thereby focusing on training the students to increase their employability. The department aim is to provide to the corporate world the dynamic leaders of the tomorrow who can deal successfully with uncertainty. Training & Placement services are done through the T&P Cell being organized by the faculty and student co-ordinators as its members. Good placements were achieved by the students in the previous years and the target of 100% qualitative placements is well in approach during present academic year.


   Department of MBA strength lies in its faculty. The department holds well qualified and experienced faculty members which includes Professors-2, Associate Professors-4, Assistant Professors-09. 40 percent of the faculty are Doctorates and majority of the remaining faculty are in the urge of submitting their thesis. The faculty is a perfect blend of different specializations in Master of Business Administration to impart their expertise in handling diversified courses of the UG and PG programs. The teaching methodology in the department goes beyond fulfilling the syllabus requirements of the university, to meet the present industry needs. Faculty motivates and guides the students to pursue the internships in specializations. Special focus will be given to develop Communication and Soft Skills. The department is having strong association with industries to uplift the students’ practical knowledge. At the beginning of each academic year Teacher Training Program is being conducted to train the newly recruited faculty with less than 2 years of experience. During the program Senior Professors of the college will deliver Model Lectures, emphasis the techniques to deliver lecture effectively.
