About NPTEL

   The National Program on technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) has initiated certification courses offered on the model of MOOCs on its online courses portal. Through an online portal, online courses are being offered. These courses are typically on topics relevant to students along with basic core courses in sciences and humanities. The enrolment to and learning from these courses involves no cost. Following the online courses, an in-person, proctored certification exam is conducted and a certificate is provided through the participating institutions and industry, when applicable.

Outcomes:


  1. Enabling students to obtain certificates to make students employable in the industry or pursue a higher education program.
  2. Relevant exposure to tools and technologies are being offered.

Benefits of NPTEL Course Certificate:


  1. You can learn the subject from the expert faculties of IITs/IISc.
  2. You can get certified by NPTEL and IITs/IISc.
  3. In most of the courses, there is a list of industries that will consider this course certificate. NPTEL also shares the toppers’ list to those industries for recruitment purpose.
  4. Students can review and assess their own progress through assignments (weekly).
  5. Inculcate mode of self-learning and get access to lectures of IIT/IISc distinguished Faculty
  6. You can review and assess their own progress through assignments(weekly)
  7. Continuous assessment and interaction with course faculty
  8. The certificates issued bear the stamp of CCE, IIT and hence are valuable additions when the student is applying for jobs.
  9. On successful completion of advanced NPTEL course by the faculties, AICTE approves as FDP so that they can get the points for the same. This FDP certificate is given full consideration for promotions under CAS as per AICTE notification.
  10. Students can use the NPTEL programmes for GATE and High Studies preparation.
  11. Considers the completion of NPTEL courses for credit transfer 12 Weeks course – 3 Credit
  12. Certificates recognized by Companies and research centre to give internship opportunity.
