A dedicated centre was established to offer Communication, Soft Skill and aptitude training to students by pooling a team of professionals with a flair for training/counselling & mentoring from various other Departments of the institute.
In a fiercely competitive and technology-driven global order, engineering students grab the most attractive job offers; yet face the maximum amount of pressure and uncertainty owing to swift changes in technology, economic as well as geo-political circumstances.
We established Communication & Soft Skills Department in the year 2009, later rechristened as the Centre for Career Guidance and Training (CGT) in 2015. A first-of-its-kind initiative in the coastal region of Andhra Pradesh, it caters to the holistic training and skilling needs of our students in order to make them industry-ready. Integrated into the syllabi as a course, comprising Quantitative Aptitude & Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Soft skills, Life skills, Behavioral skills, Career guidance, Counseling etc., it complements the core technical skills acquired by students for enhanced industry-readiness potential.
The major activities include planning, designing & organizing training programs, seminars and workshops, assisting students during campus recruitment drives, Mock Interview (MI) sessions, providing counseling support etc. We conduct a robust and vibrant Campus Placement training programme with a round-the-year fixture.
A hallmark of this unique department is its focus on counselling, career guidance and mentoring as a part of the curriculum on a regular basis.
